Spring Sharathon 2010 is coming soon!

QFM is blessed to have fantastic listeners! You guys are always very encouraging and supportive for which we are humbled and grateful. There’s no question that without you QFM would not be able to continue…you are the key element to our financial stability. It’s humbling and exciting at the same time when it’s Sharathon time, and we have an important one coming Friday, April 9th. All we can do is lay out the need and give it to the Lord. You have always responded…and this one will be very important. The budget is very tight right now…so here’s the scoop. $50,000 will be the goal that day…and we’ll kick off this very exciting day at 7am. Join us, tell your friends, and we covet your prayers. If you’d consider a pre-Sharathon pledge, you can do that by logging on to shine the light in dot org or by calling 800-435-1071…these will all go toward the total. Think about sponsoring a day or half day between now and October…of course any one time pledge is awesome or consider a pledge over 4 months of any size. Many people working together and we’ll knock this goal out of the park. Friday April 9th, a one day Spring Sharathon…right here on Your QFM.

Seventeen is a number like all the rest, but for Shine the Light, Inc. it represents quite a different picture. It represents how many years we have been providing a ministry of non-profit support to the local Christian communities in the QFM listening area. From an idea to a realization, Shine the Light has grown and has changed along the way.

From our humble beginnings, to now having 6 translator stations, we have never changed our goals. To ‘spread the good news of the gospel, to bring together individuals and families who share common values, to promote spiritual awareness’, these are only a small part of what Shine The Light wishes to accomplish.

"Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.", 1Chronicals 9:10. This rings true for Shine the Light too. We have been blessed with a foundation of faithful prayers, and Christian support from our listeners. Without that support we would not be able to continue.

Shine The Light has chosen to embark on a new friendship with Vessel Christian Foundation based in Grand Forks, ND. Our listeners and supporters throughout the years have made it possible for Shine the Light to continue to grow and support the Christian communities in our area. So much so that we are growing faster than what we are able to handle on our own.

Vessel believes in the Word of God, and to spread His Word and to minister to the needs of one another. We are blessed in our lives in different ways all the time. Some have amazing gifts that they are naturally given from birth. Others are blessed in their lives by being successful financially. This is where Vessel comes into the picture. They offer a mechanism to those individuals who want to help others in return.

By teaming with Vessel your donations and gifts to keep Shine the Light actively able to continue, can be increased. Our Spring Share-a-thon is upon us once again. How time flies. From a small idea to a blessed ministry, Shine the Light has been there. With you, QFM through Shine the Light, is possible. With God, all things are possible, Mark 10:27.

This year we have seen changes happen internally for Shine the Light. Mitch Engelstad, a board member, has decided to step down from his post. We wish to thank Mitch for his time and contributions made to Shine the Light. We were blessed with a new addition to our board when Robert Bush joined our ranks. Welcome Robert. Changes are all around us. It is how we choose to face those changes that defines us.
